If you can pay long term quite affordable 3. Overall good network (T mobile has good network in my surrounding areas) 2. These are positives and negatives Positives 1. Google Voice makes it easy to do most of the things I care about, so I'm happy enough with the combo of GV and Mint. I have signed up on mint mobile last February. But, we also have all three old phone numbers on Google Voice now, so we don't even know what the Mint phone numbers are without diving into the settings menu.

My wife has a tendency to kill phones, so assigning her number to my phone and letting her use it while the new one came in was easy and cheap on Ting, and I'm not seeing how to do it on Mint. I liked Ting and being able to do pretty much everything from the dashboard. The signup was very phone based, and I had to hunt for a way to do it from a desktop. My biggest complaint is comparing customer service and the account dashboards between Ting and Mint (and Verizon from years ago). He's bumping his limit and we may need to upgrade his (or have him be more diligent about checking he's on wifi at school).

We used him as a guinea pig to test it out, and he said o.k., so we switched all of the phones to Mint on a 4GB yearly plan. My son is in HS and hasn't had a problem in the three months he's used it.

My wife is a teacher, and the signal makes it into the building so she can get phone calls and text now, and says it hasn't dropped out at all on her trip home. My wife and son have 5G phones, and they get 5G coverage most places, and they say they definitely notice and love the upgrade. I've got a 4G phone and never have problems, but I'm a hermit and always on wifi and don't notice a difference. I am cheating a little - I was coming from Ting after many happy years until they changed and hosed their pricing structure this year, so it has been quite some time since I was with a major carrier (verizon). Agreed here- it is easy to test it out and make sure it works for your use case.
